Madama Butterfly returns to the Canadian Opera Company stage for the first time in a decade, featuring a powerful story of love and cultural clash. The opera, conducted by Keri-Lynn Wilson, tells the poignant tale of Cio-Cio San, portrayed by Japanese soprano Eri Nakamura, and her relationship with the American naval officer, played by Australian-Chinese tenor Kang Wang. This new production, directed by Michael Grandage, offers audiences an evocative experience of Puccini's celebrated score. The performances run from January 24 to February 16, 2025.
