sceneopolis.com, Toronto's innovative new 'one-stop-shop' aimed at helping Generation Y plan a night out around the city's vibrant arts and culture scene, celebrates its launch with a fabulous fun party, A Night to be Scene, October 14, presented by ABSOLUT® Vodka at Brassaii Restaurant and Lounge.

Hosted by beloved television and radio personality Mike Chalut (Slice Network's Wedding SOS, W Network's Kim's Rude Awakenings, Proud FM's The Mike Chalut Show), A Night to be Scene promises a happening party like no other, with a live DJ set by Vinney gruvhunter and closing set by Dj BINGO BOB, along with spontaneous performance art from some of sceneopolis.com's partner arts organizations.

Delicious complimentary hors d'oeuvres and sceneopolis signature cocktails provided by ABSOLUT® Vodka and mixed by the Martini Club will be served! Guests will include many locally acclaimed actors, dancers, directors, and producers.

What is sceneopolis.com?
Partnering with more than 20 top arts organizations from across the city (such as Mirvish Productions, Soulpepper, the ROM, Dancap, Tarragon and others), sceneopolis.com aims to answer the frequently-asked question among young adults, "What should we do tonight?"

Each week, three to five carefully chosen affordable events will be on offer. sceneopolis.com subscribers (for an annual fee of $45) can take advantage of deep discounts on tickets to the hottest events on Toronto's cultural calendar, coupled variously with exclusive pre-show dining and drinks, director talks, meet and greets with the cast, backstage tours and post-show parties. Also, sceneopolis.com will host its own singular events and experiences just for subscribers.

For non-subscribers, sceneopolis.com provides a free online source of information on the local arts and culture scene, including a comprehensive calendar of upcoming events.

Why sceneopolis?
The founders of the website saw the challenge that arts and culture organizations face in efforts attracting younger audiences and wanted to help change misconceptions about the performing arts as stuffy and unaffordable. Toronto business partners and avid theatre-goers Mladen Svigir (writer of Toronto-think tank CivicAction's report Arts and Culture: Vision and Value through New Collaboration) and Lisa Cousins developed the concept with key advisors from their partner organizations to appeal to Toronto's young urbanites.

With partners that include more than 20 top Toronto arts and culture organizations (in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors) - such as Canadian Stage, Cirque du Soleil, Dancap Productions, Harbourfront Centre, Mirvish Productions, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Sony Centre, Soulpepper, Tarragon Theatre, TIFF Bell Lightbox, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and more - as well as a variety of restaurants and bars, sceneopolis.com promises to be the ultimate way for 20- to 30-somethings to plan an exclusive night out in as little as three clicks and five minutes.

Tickets to A Night to be Scene are only $20 but free to sceneopolis.com subscribers. A portion of the event's proceeds will go to Arts for Children and Youth, a non-profit organization bringing the arts to marginalized young people in Toronto's priority neighbourhoods.
