St. Petersburg Opera's gorgeous production of Sondheim's classic is opening Friday night. We want to give you some additional information to enhance your experience.
While we will not be offering valet parking for this production, we will be providing free shuttle bus service from the Synovus Bank parking lot on 4th Ave. between 3rd St. and 4th St. St. Petersburg College is also offering free parking to our patrons in their enclosed parking lot next to the American Stage building. Enter that lot from 2nd Ave. between 3rd St. and 2nd St. Tell the attendant that you are attending the opera at the Palladium and your parking will be free. If you walk over to the Synovus lot, we will pick you up and deliver you to the Palladium. Our driver will be available after the show to return you to the parking lot at the bank or to the College parking garage. Our shuttle bus is a 12 passenger van with our A Little Night Music magnets on the side. Our volunteer driver, Dan Frankowiak, will assist you in and out of the van.
The first act runs approximately 90 minutes; the second act is approximately one hour. Intermission is planned for 20 minutes. Only bottled water will be allowed inside Hough Hall during these performances. An additional concession stand for water only will be set up in the lobby. Other beverages and snacks will be available at the concession windows, but must be consumed before re-entering the hall. During the intermission (there is only one), the downstairs men's room behind the Stavros Great Room will be converted to a ladies room. There are three ladies rooms: one in the front lobby, one in the back hall, and the converted men's room in the back hall. The men's room in the front lobby will remain a men's room. There are no bathrooms available to the audience in the backstage area. These are reserved for cast and orchestra members.
Tickets are still available for all three performances, although certain sections are sold out for the Sunday matinee. A limited number of student rush tickets will be available 30 minutes before show time in the lobby at the SPO table. Student rush tickets are not available from the Box Office in advance. Student rush tickets will be $10 with a valid student ID. Only students may purchase student rush tickets and seating is first come, first served. The show looks fabulous, the cast is chock full of wonderful singers, and the orchestra sounds better than ever (and that's saying a lot!) Call your friends who don't have tickets yet and tell them not to miss it! Call the Palladium Box Office at 727-822-3590 or visit our website at www.stpeteopera.org. The Palladium Box Office is open from 12 p.m. to curtain on show days. Book in advance and avoid the line at the box office.
