TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 51st season with the hit musical Ragtime. This sweeping and stirring musical masterpiece paints a portrait of America at the dawn of the twentieth century, interweaving the lives of three families—an African American family, a Jewish Immigrant family, and a wealthy white family—finding their places and pursuing the American Dream in a rapidly changing world. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally (Master Class, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Anastasia, Seussical The Musical), this musical is based on E. Actors Equity held a celebration for the 60th Anniversary of the Gypsy Robe on Monday night, October 25th at Sequoia on Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport where past gypsy robe winners came back to reminisce and to celebrate.
Just weeks prior to the Tony Award-winning musical AVENUE Q's 6th anniversary on Broadway, one of the stars of the original cast, Ann Harada, returned to the role of 'Christmas Eve' on Monday, July 6th at the John Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) in New York City. Ms. Harada -- who created the role on Broadway and played 'Christmas Eve' in the London production -- was joined in the production by members of the U.S. national tour of AVENUE Q, which recently concluded a phenomenally successful two-year run: Robert McClure will assume the roles of Princeton/Rod on Broadway, along with Anika Larsen as Kate Monster/Lucy the Slut, and Danielle K.
