As it prepares to celebrate its second birthday in the West End, Disney's Aladdin announces today that fourteen new cast members will be joining the company. Matthew Croke will continue to star in the title role, having joined the company in June 2017, opposite original London cast members Jade Ewen (Jasmine) and Trevor Dion Nicholas (Genie). New cast members include Fred Johanson as Jafar and Julian Capolei as Omar. Original cast member Jermaine Woods will play Iago, having previously covered the role.

It is always exciting when you sit in a theater to see the world premiere of a new musical. The Arena Stage's Kreeger Theater was a buzz in anticipation of SNOW CHILD which is a co-production with Alaska's Perseverance Theatre. Why Perseverance? Well, Arena Stage's Artistic Director Molly Smith actually grew up in Alaska, returned there after schooling and founded the Perseverance Theatre in Juneau. She served as Artistic Director there for 19 years before coming to Arena Stage. Four years ago, Smith and Perseverance Artistic Director Art Rotch discussed the idea for an adaptation for SNOW CHILD.

The full cast for The 5th Avenue Theatre's spectacular new production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which stars Deaf actorJoshua Castille as Quasimodo, has been announced. Tom Waits has been painting an Americana landscape with his music over the past three decades. Much of his lyrics weave fictional individuals through nonfictional settings in the same 'dirty reality' style American short-story writer Raymond Carver and poet Charles Bukowski displayed in their works. Just ask Patrick McCollum. He was introduced to Steven Hoggett as a possible performer for his BC BEAT piece in 2011. Following their BC BEAT process, McCollum worked nonstop with Hoggett as an Associate Broadway Choreographer and this year, made his Broadway choreographic debut with THE BAND'S VISIT. McCollum is one of the many Broadway artists who have performed and choreographed at BC BEAT and have made the most of the opportunity at hand.

Opera Australia Artistic Director Lyndon Terracini, Australian theatre producer John Frost and leading UK theatre producer David Ian today announced the full cast for their upcoming production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's EVITA. One of the most celebrated musicals of all time, the original West End and Broadway production of EVITA, directed by Hal Prince, will return to Australia from 13 September this year, playing at the Joan Sutherland Theatre at the Sydney Opera House.

On April 19, 2018 Project Broadway presented the 2nd annual Broadway and Beyond: Careers in the Theater panel to the 7th and 8th grade students at St Hope Leadership Academy in Harlem. This special event was presented in partnership with Harlem Grown. In this workshop, Broadway experts came together to be part of an interactive panel where they offered their own insight, education and advice on having a career in the entertainment industry.
