MCC Theater annual gala, Miscast, was held Monday, March 10, 2008 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues). Thomas Schumacher, producer of the Tony Award winning musical The Lion King was honored with his caricature unveiling at the world famous Broadway eatery, Sardi's Restaurant (234 West 44th Street) on Thursday, March 6th. Schumacher joins the ranks of Broadway royalty whom have been honored with a caricature on the famous walls of Sardi's Restaurant.

Gawn Grainger, Douglas Henshall, Susan Lynch and Joseph Mawle will be joined by LAByrinth Theatre Company member Ron Cephas Jones in the European premiere of Stephen Adly Guirgis' The Last Days of Judas Iscariot directed by Rupert Goold. The Almeida Theatre and Headlong co-production opens on March 28, 2008 with press night on April 3, and is running until May 10.

Paper Mill Playhouse's production of Steel Magnolias began at their Millburn Theatre on Wednesday, March 5; to officially open Sunday March 9 at 7:30PM with performances through April 6. The cast of Steel Magnolias stars Kelly Bishop as Clairee, Charlotte Booker as Truvy, Beth Fowler as Ouiser, Monique Fowler as M'Lynn, Kelly Sullivan as Shelby and Kate Wetherhead as Annelle.

Transport Group will present Marcy in the Galaxy, a world premiere musical, with book, music, and lyrics by Nancy Shayne, based on a story by Ms. Shayne and Michael Patrick King, and directed by artistic director Jack Cummings III beginning performances Friday, March 28. The opening has been scheduled for Sunday, April 6 at 3PM.

The fourth annual 'ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS' benefit was held Sunday, March 2 (7:30PM, ET) at Town Hall in New York City. The reception was held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. The event raised $300,000!
