The Boca Raton theatre's fifth season opens with the modern classic The Drowsy Chaperone and then moves into three productions audiences have embraced as both film and stage productions including A Wonderful Life, based on the beloved Frank Capra film; Singin' in the Rain, the quintessential MGM movie musical and the classic, Brigadoon.

Tony nominee Karine Plantadit will present Victory Dance Project's 'Woman of Valour Award' to Broadway legend Chita Rivera, on Thursday, June 15 at 7:30pm at the opening celebration of the company's third season, at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center (MMAC), 248 W. 60th Street.

???????Boys and girls will love Walnut Street Theatre for Kids' production of Junie B. Jones The Musical. The Junie B. Jones book series is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and the world's funniest first-grader is front and center at Walnut Street Theatre. Kids, parents and grandparents can read the books together and see their favorite characters live on stage in an hour-long musical filled with lots of laughter. Due to popular demand, the Walnut has just announced the production has been extended! Junie B. Jones will now run June 2nd through June 18th.

The global musical phenomenon, MAMMA MIA!, will commence its new national tour at the Canberra Theatre Centre on November 24th 2017 followed by a season from December 26th 2017 QPAC's Lyric Theatre in Brisbane.

Cafe Carlyle will welcome back Broadway legend Chita Rivera, May 9-20. Last year's sold out Cafe Carlyle debut received raves reviews. An accomplished and versatile actress/singer/dancer, Chita Rivera has won two Tony Awards as Best Leading Actress in a Musical and has received eight additional Tony nominations for an exceptional 10 Tony nominations. Victory Dance Project, under the Artistic Direction of Amy Jordan, will celebrate its third anniversary with three performances, running June 15 – 18 at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center (no performance on June 16). The season will open with a Celebration honoring Broadway legend Chita Rivera, who will be presented with the company's “Woman of Valor Award.” The program, entitled From This Moment On will also include a world premiere as well pieces from the company's repertory.  On June 17 and 18, the program will include special performances by students from Early Mosley's Diversity of Dance company.

Directed and choreographed by Ellie Mooney, the production begins with previews on April 4th, opens on April 6th and continues through July 2nd in the Walnut's Independence Studio on 3.  

Bucks County Playhouse's Executive Producer Robyn Goodman, Producing Director Alexander Fraser and Producers Stephen Kocis and Joshua Fiedler announced additional casting for the Oscar Hammerstein Festival's Benefit concert, 'Hammerstein in Hollywood,' at Bucks County Playhouse on Saturday, April 22 at 8:00 pm.

American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21) announced that it has established the The Chita Rivera Awards for Dance and Choreography (formerly The Fred & Adele Astaire Awards) to honor the best of theatrical dance and choreography, both on Broadway and off, as well as film and television.
