Gabrielle Carrubba will sing a requiem tonight... and tomorrow night... and eight times a week after that. That's because the Dear Evan Hansen understudy has officially taken over the role of Zoe Murphy on Broadway. 

BroadwayWorld has just learned that original Broadway cast members of Dear Evan Hansen Jennifer Laura Thompson and Michael Park will play their final performances as Cynthia Murphy and Larry Murphy, respectively, on Sunday, August 4. Beginning Tuesday, August 6, Ivan Hernandez (who made his Broadway debut as Billy Flynn in Chicago in 2015) will take over the role of Larry Murphy, and Ann Sanders will temporarily take over the role of Cynthia Murphy (through October 20).

Gabrielle Carrubba will take over the role of Zoe Murphy on Broadway in Dear Evan Hansen on Tuesday, July 30. She replaces Mallory Bechtel, who will play her final performance on Sunday, July 28 after a year in the role.

"Dear Evan Hansen (original Broadway Cast Recording)," has been certified gold by the RIAA making it only the third cast recording to receive gold or greater certification this decade. Additionally, "Waving Through A Window," the hit single from the musical has also received the RIAA gold certification.

Dear Evan Hansen's current Zoe Murphy, Mallory Bechtel, performs a solo version the ballad 'Only Us' at TED-Ed Weekend!

Broadway's Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen, is currently in its third record-smashing year at the Music Box Theatre. Following the success of the Broadway production, a national tour launched soon after, bringing the story across North America. A sit-down production made its way to Toronto earlier this year, and will be followed by a West End production set to debut in October 2019 at the Noel Coward Theatre.

This week, the 2019 Jimmy Awards nominees paid a visit to current Evan Hansen and former Jimmys winner, Andrew Barth Feldman, and the whole gang at Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway!

Last year, in honor of Pride Month, the choir at Middle Church of New York performed the empowering song from Dear Evan Hansen, 'You Will Be Found.'
