Like many of us, I haven’t set foot in my gym since lockdown. As a result, painful pavement pounding has become all-too familiar. As the days get shorter, colder and wetter, my motivation has waned more than a little and listening to my tired playlists is actually stunting my progress rather than enhancing it. Then, a lightbulb moment! A playlist made up of the best tracks from musicals. Surely those tunes that make you want to dance in your theatre seat will work when you are out on the road? I can confirm these beats work-I just wish I had thought of them earlier.

HEDWIG is about East German born Hansel Schmidt who becomes Hedwig Robinson, the rock 'n roll goddess and 'internationally ignored song stylist.' Hedwig tells her story over the course of this rock/cabaret/stand-up comedy show - from a childhood on the other side of the Berlin Wall, to a botched sex-change operation, abandonment, betrayal, and the search for love and wholeness. It is heartbreaking, hilarious, and will make you want to headbang!

No matter how many times you may have seen GODSPELL before, it is definitely worth your time to see the ACT of Connecticut's vastly different interpretation which I like to refer to as a?oeGodspell on Caffeine.a?? It comes as a pleasant surprise to find out that Derek Klena, actor, singer, cabaret performer, is in truth a genuinely affable, kind, thoughtful guy. He is also a prodigiously talented one.
