'I grew up on the road by the time I was twelve years old performing my own music, and I always thought that I would be a singer songwriter. And I have been with original music used on several prime time television shows such as Sons of Anarchy, The Vampire Diaries, and So You Think You Can Dance. There was always this side of me that was just living in music, but it wasn't until I moved to Los Angeles and decided to look through this magazine called Backstage West, which being that I was fresh out of Tennessee I never heard of this magazine before, and I saw this cattle call audition for this show called Rent and auditioned for a musical. I was there in Los Angeles for my first week and I wondered what it would be like to just go and throw myself into something like this.'

Full confession: I was not jumping up and down to see another production of Cabaret. Chalk it up to Cabaret being the show that wouldn't die when I was in college - cast as a chorus member, it was a grueling rehearsal period and extended run, then we won American College Theater Festival for our region and had to come back early from winter break to recreate it, it literally went on for a good two thirds of my sophomore year. Some of the songs can give me PTSD. True fact.

The Osmonds: A New Musical is a world premiere production telling the story of a talented family from Utah who became household names. Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre remembers and celebrates one of their founding members MICHAEL JONES, who passed away a year ago. An Emmy winner and recipient of the Oklahoma Governor’s Arts Award, Michael was a co-founder and Artistic Associate at OKC Rep. While Michael was a pillar of the OKC theatre community, he also worked all over the country. Michael touched the lives and hearts of so many he worked with. The OKC theatre community remembers Michael Jones.

After six days and 73 feature films, the 2021 Sundance Film Festival’s Awards Ceremony took place tonight, hosted by actor and comedian Patton Oswalt, with jurors presenting 24 prizes for feature filmmaking and seven for Short Films.

The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the showcase of new independent work selected across the Feature Film, Short Film, Indie Series and New Frontier categories for the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.

Like many of us, I haven’t set foot in my gym since lockdown. As a result, painful pavement pounding has become all-too familiar. As the days get shorter, colder and wetter, my motivation has waned more than a little and listening to my tired playlists is actually stunting my progress rather than enhancing it. I can confirm these beats work-I just wish I had thought of them earlier.

Art House Productions has announced two upcoming lectures made possible by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities. On May 17 at 2:00pm, Ellen Gruber Garvey, PHD will lead Women on Wheels: How Women Found Freedom through Bicycling; and on May 31 at 11:00am, Sylvia Chan-Malik, PHD will lead Women, Feminism, and Islam. Lectures will be held in the Art House Gallery amidst a solo exhibit by artist Diana Schmertz. Admission to the lectures is free, but advance reservations are strongly encouraged as space is limited.
