Diet Cig are back! Today the critically-acclaimed duo of Alex Luciano (guitar and vocals) and Noah Bowman (drums) return with a new song “Night Terrors” - their first bit of music since 2017 when they released their debut album Swear I'm Good At This. Of “Night Terrors” Alex notes, “This song centers around my very real and frequent experiences with night terrors and other bizarre sleep activity. If we're close enough to have ever shared a room, you know what I'm talking about. This song goes out to you.

Today, New York City-based band The Wants -- Madison Velding-VanDam (vocals, guitar, synth), Jason Gates (drums, live electronics), and Heather Elle (vocals, bass,synth) -- share new single 'The Motor', and announce their debut full-length, Container. In support and anticipation of the upcoming album release, The Wants head out on a UK tour next month, and are playing select NYC dates in anticipation of a US tour soon to be announced. Container LP is due out March 13th, 2020 via UK-based Council Records (pre-order here). 

 CW Seed, The CW's free, ad-supported digital network, has acquired the second window, non-exclusive streaming rights to 14 series from BBC Studios. The pact will bring more than 200 episodes and 150 hours of scripted library content to the platform. The announcement was made today by Rick Haskins, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Digital Platforms, The CW.

British indie-rock outfit Beat Hotel has announced that they will be releasing their new eponymous mini-album via Occulation Recordings in the new year. Ahead of that, they are previewing their first single 'Feel It', an upbeat and notably positive song and their first composition in a long time. This is the first taste of the new 6-track offering. Both the single and album will be offered for download, but the full album is also being pressed on 12” vinyl.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre (KCRep), announced the full schedule for this season's popular Monday Night Playwright Series, which opened with BURIED ROOTS, its first play of the series, on Monday. The series features a line-up of new and returning playwrights including Michelle Tyrene Johnson, Darren Canady, James Still, Migdalia Cruz, Mashuq Mushtaq Deen and Ellen McLaughlin. Today Nashville-via-Boston DIY scene duo Twen share a new single. The celestial and angular epic, “Baptism,” out today, is taken from their forthcoming album, Awestruck. On this track, which the band has played live for over three years now, Jane Fitzsimmons' impressionistic lyrics dream of yearning, of wanting to be born and becoming, while guitarist Ian Jonesembodies time itself by revisiting a riff written as a teenager, reworked with fresh perspective. The Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater Company (Tom Oppenheim, Artistic Director) has announced a limited engagement of William Shakespeare's King Lear. Under the direction of Nike Doukas, the production will feature H. Richard Green in the title role, Mark Bramhall as Gloucester, Stephen Caffrey as Kent, and David Sussman as The Fool. Opening is set for Thursday, July 18, at 8pm.

CoCo and the Butterfields have shared their new EP, Monsters. Previously released as a collection of acoustic tracks, the new release has been re-recorded as a fully orchestrated representation of the band's creative evolution since its conception six years ago.
