NOSTALGIA BAIT was an excellent night of fun that celebrated growing up as a theater kid in the early 2000s. Creative choices were made that enhanced the show into a full production.

The upcoming production of the 1955 musical written by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross (music and lyrics) and Douglass Wallop and George Abbott (book) will star Neil Patrick Harris as Applegate, Julianne Hough as Lola, and Austin Scott as Young Joe Hardy. It will play Broadway’s Marquis Theatre, which incidentally, hosted the first revival of the show from 1994-1995. The 2027 production will be the second Broadway revival for the perennially popular property which has been a favorite in schools and communities since it made a splash during musical theatre’s Golden Age. 

DIRTY DANCING – THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE will play a 15-week West End run at the Prince Edward Theatre, with Michael O'Reilly returning as Johnny Castle alongside Pippa Jackson and Emily Layden-Fritz.

UMe released a new vinyl reissue of ZIGGY MARLEY & THE MELODY MAKERS' CONSCIOUS PARTY, the first vinyl pressing since the album's 1988 debut. The Grammy Award-winning album is available in multiple configurations including 180g emerald green and standard black vinyl.

Ventura Music Festival will present the Pacific Jazz Orchestra performing arrangements of Quincy Jones' early work from the 1950s and 60s, featuring vocalists Nayanna Holley and Adam 'Aejaye' Jackson, led by Grammy-nominated arranger Chris Walden.

Directed by Jonathan O'Boyle, this production comes from Barn Theatre Cirencester where it was first staged in 2022, revived for a summer run and now transfers with its full Barn company before heading off on a national tour. It arrives as a hastily arranged replacement for the troubled Burlesque that is doing its own circuit of the UK after cancelling what was meant to be its opening run.
