New York Classical Theatre and Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will present the Off-Broadway premiere of the new play The Rewards of Being Frank, written by Alice Scovell and directed by New York Classical’s Stephen Burdman.

The inspirational, true story of Canadian Civil Rights hero, Viola Desmond comes to life on the Grand Theatre’s Spriet Stage at the Ontario premiere of Controlled Damage – by London playwright Andrea Scott. The acclaimed production, playing January 17th through January 29th, is directed by Ray Hogg and stars Beck Lloyd as Viola Desmond. 

Theatre at St. Clement’s to present a one night only staged reading of Zaglada, a new play by Richard Vetere, directed by Dan Wackerman at Theatre at St. Clement’s on Monday, January 23 at 7pm. Admission is free.

​​​​​​​Steppenwolf Theatre Company today mourns the loss of longtime ensemble member, actor, director and adaptor Frank Galati, who died Monday evening in Florida at the age of 79. Galati, who joined the Steppenwolf ensemble in 1985, won two Tony Awards in 1990 for his adaptation and direction of Steppenwolf's pivotal production of The Grapes of Wrath on Broadway.
