Adam Bock's A Life, commissioned by Portland Center Stage at The Armory, will receive its West Coast debut at The Armory following the success of the play's world premiere in New York. A Life begins preview performances on September 29, opens on October 5, and runs through November 11 in the Ellyn Bye Studio. Associate Artistic Director Rose Riordan, who has frequently partnered with Bock, will direct. Nat DeWolf (Broadway: Take Me Out) will make his company debut as the astrology-loving and hopelessly single Nate Martin. DeWolf is joined by Cycerli Ash, also making her debut at The Armory, as well as returning artists Dana Green (Major Barbara and many others) and Gary Norman (Our Town). (more...)

Peggy Duquesnel and Andre Mayeux will Release 'Keys to Glory' in Honor of the 100th Anniversary of Veteran's Day

Providing a rally call for national pride and unity for the 100th anniversary celebration of Veterans Day, pianist Peggy Duquesnel and organist Andre Mayeux will release “Keys to Glory” on November 9, a collection of songs of America, patriotic anthems, hymns, folk songs and three originals penned by the keyboardists. Included in the 17-track set produced by the pair is a rousing duet of “God Bless America,” to mark the centennial anniversary of the revered Irving Berlin treasure. WICKED Announces $25 Lottery Seats

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED, which is returning to Omaha's Orpheum Theater with performances from May 16 to June 3, 2018. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the Orpheum Theater box office will have their names placed in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets. (more...)

Casting is complete for HURRICANE DAMAGE, a world-premiere dramedy by the New York-based playwright Kevin Brofsky that will be the fourth entry in Pride Films and Plays' five-show PAC Pride Fest. HURRICANE DAMAGE, opening on August 3 after previews on August 1 and 2, concerns two long-time partners, veterans of the 1970's gay scene in New York, living on Florida's Gulf Coast. Dennis and Oscar are visited by an old friend of those days, a photographer named Norman who has remained single and brings back bittersweet memories of their glory days in Manhattan.  The couple will be played by company member Charles A.
