MJ – Das Michael Jackson Musical in Hamburg fühlte sich für mich fast wie die perfekte Fortsetzung des großartigen Films „Michael“ an: Während der Film etwa 1988 endet, setzt das Musical mitten in der Dangerous-Ära der frühen 90er an und verbindet Musik, Emotionen und Flashbacks auf erstaunlich cineastische Weise. Benét Monteiro und Jay Karim-Jonker waren als MJ fantastisch, Bühne, Licht und Choreografie absolute Stage-Entertainment-Topklasse, und besonders „Thriller“, „Human Nature“ und „Man in the Mirror“ sorgten für echte Gänsehautmomente. Am schönsten war aber vielleicht das Publikum selbst – von Menschen, die mit Michael Jackson groß geworden sind, bis hin zu Kindern unter 10 Jahren in kompletter MJ-Montur. Genau da merkt man, wie zeitlos seine Musik bis heute geblieben ist.
