Ghostlight Records has released RAGS - THE MUSICAL (Original London Cast Recording). The musical's examinations of attitudes towards immigration and its frank discussions of labor and unions are timely, even if the lyrics keep the songs from being truly memorable.

Forced indoors and relying on our memories of life before quarantine, the cast album for a musical about music recovered from memory data seems oddly apropos and strangely relatable. This is the moment where Broadway Records' RAGS PARKLAND SINGS THE SONGS OF THE FUTURE (Original Cast Recording) meets us. Highly intellectual and with a somewhat obscured concept in the album setting, this record is equal parts poignant and entertaining.
by BWW News Desk - Mar 26, 2020
RAGS PARKLAND SINGS SONGS OF THE FUTURE will be holding a virtual album release concert tomorrow, Friday March 27 at 6pm EDT. The album, released exclusively by Broadway Records, will be performed live on the Ars Nova Instagram page.

The ART's club venue Oberon Theater goes dark. A moment of anticipation hangs in the air before the band begins the opening bars of a?oeChosen,a?? the first original song in the new faithfully adapted queer Biblical musical, Beloved King. Before long, we hear a rich voice, powerful and authoritative as it rings out over the house. It takes several seconds for us to realize that the voice is coming from the balcony above the bar. We turn and see a man with long, stark-white hair dressed in a cloak that seems to be stitched together from scraps of fabric and old rags. He holds a staff with a mysterious disc attached to it. On the disc is an inscription in paleo-Hebrew which translates to a?oeHoly, of the house of the Lord.a??
