Ballet Kelowna will open its 20th anniversary season with an exhilarating mixed program, Aspirations, at the Kelowna Community Theatre, November 4 + 5, 2022 at 7:30pm. A dynamic collection of short works by three virtuosic Canadian choreographers, Aspirations offers audiences an evening of dazzling premieres and returning classics, including the world premiere of an uplifting and highly musical new work by award-winning choreographer Robert Stephen.

Famed Argentine dancer/choreographer Guillermina Quiroga, one of the world's leading tango dancers, will be joined by her longtime partner, Mariano Logiudice, dancers Adriana Salgado and Orlando Reyes, and the Latin Grammy award-winning Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet (bass, violin, bandoneon, piano) in Tango in Concert, a brilliant program that brings to life the passion, soul and beauty of Argentine tango.

CRISTIAN LAVERDE KÖNIG, former principal dancer of the Milwaukee Ballet, will appear as a guest artist in the role of the Snow King, in Ballet Arts' production of The Nutcracker on December 9, 10 & 11, 2022.   The performances will take place at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, Tennessee.              

The Milwaukee Art Museum has announced two key additions to its senior leadership team: Elizabeth Siegel has been appointed the Museum's Chief Curator, and André Allaire has been named Chief Development Officer.

The world premiere of Bach Dance Project, inspired by Paul Taylor’s modern dance and Johann Sebastian Bach’s music, will take place on October 25th as part of the 50th anniversary of the Cervantino International Festival in Guanajuato, Mexico.

The Public Theater has announced complete casting for the world premiere of PLAYS FOR THE PLAGUE YEAR, written by and featuring Pulitzer Prize winner and Public Theater Writer-in-Residence Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Bessie Award winner Niegel Smith. 

Bernadine (Bernie) Griffin, Managing Director of The 5th Avenue Theatre will retire at the end of the 2022/23 Season, after serving 21 years in leadership roles at The 5th and almost four decades of involvement in Seattle’s arts and cultural sector.

The Board of Directors of the African American Arts Alliance, and the Black Excellence Awards Committee have announced the nominations for the 22nd Annual Black Excellence Awards. The Awards were established in 2002 to honor the outstanding works of art by African Americans in Theater, Dance, Music, Film, Literature, Visual Arts and Digital Media.

Second Stage Theater will kick off its 44th Season with the New York Premiere of CAMP SIEGFRIED, the new play from Tony Award-nominee BESS WOHL, directed by Tony Award-winner DAVID CROMER. The production will feature SAWYER BARTH and LILY McINERNY, both of whom will be making their off-Broadway stage debuts.

Jesse L. Martin is known for his Tony-winning role as Tom Collins on Broadway in Rent. He reprised his role in the 2005 feature film adaptation. The Brooklyn-based Asase Yaa African American Dance Theater, founded by Asase Yaa Cultural Arts Foundation in 2002, will be premiering their new original musical It Was All a Dream, in celebration of the Foundation's 20th Anniversary on August 20, 2022 at 7pm at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center.

Parker is an 18-Year Old Writer, Director, Actor, and Producer.

As a process-focused performing arts organization, Works & Process continued to provide opportunities and fees for artists throughout the pandemic, and pioneered the bubble residency model to support their work safely.
