Johnny Berchtold will join the cast of the New York Premiere production of CAMP SIEGFRIED, the new play from Tony Award-nominee BESS WOHL (2ST’s Grand Horizons and Make Believe), directed by Tony Award-winner DAVID CROMER (The Band’s Visit, 2ST’s Man from Nebraska) at Second Stage Theater.

The Public Theater has announced complete casting for the world premiere of PLAYS FOR THE PLAGUE YEAR, written by and featuring Pulitzer Prize winner and Public Theater Writer-in-Residence Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Bessie Award winner Niegel Smith. 

Bernadine (Bernie) Griffin, Managing Director of The 5th Avenue Theatre will retire at the end of the 2022/23 Season, after serving 21 years in leadership roles at The 5th and almost four decades of involvement in Seattle’s arts and cultural sector.

The Board of Directors of the African American Arts Alliance, and the Black Excellence Awards Committee have announced the nominations for the 22nd Annual Black Excellence Awards. The production will feature SAWYER BARTH and LILY McINERNY, both of whom will be making their off-Broadway stage debuts.

Jesse L. Martin is known for his Tony-winning role as Tom Collins on Broadway in Rent. He reprised his role in the 2005 feature film adaptation. Actor’s Express will continue its 34th season with a production of Desire Under the Elms, a landmark American play by Eugene O’Neill, American playwright and Nobel laureate in literature. Performances run August 6-28, 2022.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announced its 52nd season, featuring six plays and musicals to be presented November 2022 through August 2023. Three of the season's productions will be mounted at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, and three will be staged at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre. What did our critic think of HAIRSPRAY at Fort Wayne Summer Music Theatre? The Indiana Music Theatre Foundation is back again with a toe-tapping, fun-filled production of HAIRSPRAY, performed by the Fort Wayne Summer Music Theatre as part of this year's Three Rivers Festival. After last summer's stunning production of LES MISERABLES, I had high expectations for HAIRSPRAY, and I'm happy to report that it did not disappoint.

Jazz vocalist Lainie Cooke will present her latest EP, Happy Madness, due out July 15, 2022 via Truth Revolution Recording Collective. Cooke's original idea was to create an online comic book with images reflective of the Modern Romance comics of the '50s.
