Beginning on Saturday, May 18, and continuing every Saturday through July 13, The Lyric Opera Broadcasts of the 2012/13 Lyric Opera of Chicago season will be rebroadcast internationally by The WFMT Radio Network and heard locally on 98.7WFMT. Lyric's 2012-13 season comprises nine operas plus the musical Oklahoma! Two of the shorter operas, Hansel and Gretel and Elektra, will be broadcast on a single date as a double bill.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) today announced the integration of streams to its historic Gold & Platinum (G&P) Program, the industry's premier award for recognizing artistic achievement in the marketplace. On-demand audio and/or video song streams will now be counted towards the 500,000 (Gold), 1,000,000 (Platinum) and 2,000,000 plus (multi-Platinum) thresholds required for G&P's Digital Single Award certification.

The Muny announced principal casting for the fifth show of its fantastic 95th season, Les Miserables. NBC Sports' coverage of Saturday's Kentucky Derby, won by Orb, drew a 10.4 overnight rating and a 23 share for the race portion (6-7 p.m. ET), up 16% from the 2012 Kentucky Derby, according to overnight data provided today by The Nielsen Company. The 10.4 overnight rating ties the 2010 race as the best for a Kentucky Derby in 21 years (10.9/29 in 1992).
