La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club will present COFFEEHOUSE CHRONICLES #183 — AN AFTERNOON WITH AGOSTO MACHADO on Saturday, May 30 at 3 p.m. at the Ellen Stewart Theatre.

Ozzie Rodriguez, a beloved figure in the experimental theater community and longtime Director of La MaMa’s Archives, has died at age 81. A playwright, actor, director, visual artist, and master archivist, Rodriguez passed away in New York City on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

1967 to 1972 - The Age of Aquarius - An era when Rock N Roll evolved from popular music into a powerful force set against the backdrop of introspection, social unrest, and military action under a burgeoning umbrella of peace and love.

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of two groundbreaking, iconic musicals CHICAGO and A CHORUS LINE, Segerstrom Center for the Arts in association with Spot-On Entertainment presented a one-nigh-only star-studded concert featuring the music of John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Marvin Hamlisch. The lineup included Tony Award nominees Tony Yazbeck and OC native Eden Espinosa, plus Max Clayton, Jason Graae, and original A CHORUS LINE cast member Kay Cole. The event was hosted by Scott Coulter and featured pianist John Boswell and the Fabulous 50 orchestra under the direction of Rob Istad.

Last night, legendary Broadway composer John Kander and the cast of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club at the August Wilson Theatre celebrated the 58th anniversary of the original Broadway production. Check out the video here!
