The Music Center has named 14 Grand Prize finalists from 1,500 applicants in The Music Center’s 33rd annual Spotlight (Spotlight) program, a free nationally acclaimed arts training and scholarship program for Southern California teens. The Music Center re-imagined Spotlight’s offerings for the 2020–2021 year to be entirely digital and COVID safe.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced its 2021–2022 Theater season featuring hit Broadway musicals, acclaimed plays, Kennedy Center productions, special programming for the Center’s 50th Anniversary, and more, beginning in October 2021.

The new series will feature five virtual master classes for young artists in grades 8-12 led by distinguished Interlochen faculty. Each session will include live teaching as well as an interactive Q&A where participants can submit questions. Members of the public can register for a class in advance for $25. 

Today, Broadway San Jose announced the updated season lineup that will make up the company’s upcoming season. The season opens with HAMILTON (October 12–31, 2021), followed by the all-new touring production of Broadway’s Tony Award-winning musical, HAIRSPRAY (November 23–28, 2021) (replacing the previously-announced Anastasia).

 A chorus of contemporary Broadway stars is teaming up for a performance of epically charitable proportions to benefit the Ukulele Kids Club (UKC), the nonprofit that supports the healthcare of medically fragile children through music therapy and donations of ukuleles.

American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University announces the remainder of the 2020-2021 season. The 15th anniversary season concludes with the development of three new music theatre works and the first Capstone Festival featuring works created by senior music theatre students at Northwestern's School of Communication.
