This Month, FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club & Private Event Destination, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

Firestone Theatre's new season is set to take off with the upcoming production of the comedy School Girls; or, the African Mean Girls Play by Jocelyn Bioh. The play, under the direction of Ashley Aquilla Wheadon, is a gleeful make-over of an American genre exploring the universal similarities (and glaring differences) facing teenage girls across the globe. Performances of School Girls will be held at 7:30 p.m. October 3, 4, and 5, 2019. Tickets to School Girls are $8.00 in advance, $10.00 at the door, and $12.00 for reserved, VIP seating. All tickets are currently available online and at the door on the night of performance. These performances of School Girls represent the first appearance of this play on any stage in the area and may very well be the first high school production altogether.

Sometimes being brave means being yourself! This fall Goodspeed Musicals' production of Billy Elliot The Musical will spark with infectious energy. This tour-de-force of dance based on the British movie of the same name, will run September 13 a?' November 24 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn. Casting and tour dates have been announced for the 2019-20 touring season of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The cast will be led by Eric Chambliss (Bob Gaudio), Corey Greenan (Tommy DeVito), Jon Hacker (Frankie Valli) and Michael Milton (Nick Massi) as The Four Seasons.

Due to popular demand, The Old Globe announced today a one-week-only extensiona?"through Sunday, October 27a?"of Almost Famous, a world-premiere musical

Lincoln Center Theater, under the direction of André Bishop, has announced it will produce a new musical during its 2019-2020 season. FLYING OVER SUNSET, with a book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt, and lyrics by Michael Korie, will feature choreography by Michelle Dorrance, and will begin previews March 12, 2020 and open on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Carmen Cusack, Harry Hadden-Paton and Tony Yazbeck will head the cast with additional casting to be announced at a later date.

As previously announced, MainStage Irving*Las Colinas has recently leased the former Texas Musicians Museum (222 E. Irving Blvd, Irving TX 75060), with the newly-titled MainStage 222 building set to officially open on October 3rd. But marking the inaugural performance in the new space with be the MainStage 222 Live Blues Revue, featuring DFW's most requested Blues bands on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 6:00PM to 12:00AM. $10 general admission tickets are now available online at tickets.irvingartscenter.com/milc222. Madwomen's Late Nite Cabaret is a one-hour musical that celebrates mad, misunderstood and maligned women from history and literature, performing cabaret songs that uniquely pertain to their particular situations. Ethel Merman hosts and Lizzie Borden plays piano as over a dozen women, including Joan of Arc, Mata Hari, Amelia Earhart and Medusa sing favorites from 'Smoke Gets in Your Eyes' to 'Hair.'

Producers Lia Vollack, Joey Parnes, Sue Wagner, and John Johnson today announced the cast and creative team for Almost Famous, a world premiere musical with book and lyrics by Academy Award winner Cameron Crowe, based on his iconic film. Almost Famous, which will open the 2019-2020 Season at The Old Globe (Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein and Managing Director Timothy J. Shields), is directed by Tony Award® nominee Jeremy Herrin and features original music and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize and two-time Tony Award winner Tom Kitt. Performances will run September 13 a?' October 20, with an official opening night on September 27.

Kiln Theatre today announces the appointment of Taio Lawson and Susie McKenna as Associate Directors. They take up their roles from 31 July 2019 and will support Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham in the delivery of the artistic programme and Kiln Theatre's wider output. Both part-time positions have been made possible through the generous support of theEsmee Fairbairn Foundation.

Disney's Freaky Friday just opened at North Shore Music Theatre. Based on the 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers. It was then made into a movie by Disney in 1976 staring Jody Foster and Barbara Harris, with a less memorable movie remake in 2018. It is now a newly created, fun family musical with all the bells and whistles.

There has never been a lack of extraordinary talent at United Solo. Year by year, audiences have witnessed some of the most amazing solo artists from all over the world share their talents and stories. The Rocket Summer's 'mastermind (Billboard),' multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter, and performer, Bryce Avary, shares his new video and single, 'Peace Signs,' today. The track is the third single from the forthcoming, new album, Sweet Shivers, due out this summer, on August 2, 2019. Anthemic and summery, the track has a groovy, beachy, cruising on the coast kind of feel. Describing the single, Avary says, 'Take it as a plea for peace, or take it as a bit of apathetic satire, but either way I hope you take a drive with your windows down blasting the new single Peace Signs this weekend.'
