What did our critic think of GRUMPY OLD MEN: THE MUSICAL at Elmont Library Theatre?

Plaza's Broadway Long Island, Nassau County's Only Professional Theatre in residence at the State-of-the Art Elmont Library Theatre, has announced the cast and creative team for their upcoming production of Grumpy Old Men. Performances begin on Saturday, November 19 and runs through Sunday, December 4.

Eric Neumann is one of the fastest rising standup comedians in the United States. In February 2022, he made his late night debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC. He has recorded three albums/specials, Nervous Lover, Just A Phase, and, most recently, But Enough about Me: A Crowd Work Album. All three reached number 1 on the iTunes Comedy charts and are currently playing on Sirius XM Radio. He has appeared on Season 3 of Comedy Central's This Week at the Comedy Cellar, as well as Season 1 of The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show on Netflix. In 2021, he was featured in The Jerusalem Post as 'one of the Jewish comedians who stayed relevant during the Covid-19 pandemic.' He is currently on a headlining tour performing at major comedy clubs across the country. When not touring, Eric lives in Manhattan, where he is a regular at the Comedy Cellar.

2023 marks a golden milestone for Beef & Boards – 50 years of keeping audiences well-fed and exceptionally entertained, and keeping them coming back for more. Grumpy Old Men has opened at the Alhambra Theatre and Dining! The musical based on the 1993 movie follows two (as you guessed it) grumpy old men, John Gustafson and Max Goldman. The two had been feuding for decades, which all started with a woman they both liked. Years later, a new woman comes to town, and they are both vying for her affection.

Panic! Productions, along with Born To Perform Studios and BarCinBoo Productions, Inc. have announced that Barry Pearl will once again direct their late summer teen musical 13, this time at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center. This will be Pearl's third time working with Panic! Productions and also his third time directing the musical on the West Coast. I decided to speak with Barry about his connection to the teen musical and what inspired him to direct it for the third time, as well as how it may differ from his previous incarnations.

The Alhambra Theatre & Dining announced today its schedule for the 2022 season. The Broadway classic, Guys and Dolls will open on January 13, marking the Alhambra's 53rd season and continuing its run as the longest running dinner theater in the United States. Guys and Dolls will run through February 13.

Mamma Mia is the ABBA-infused jukebox musical about bride to be, Sophie (Jennie Nasser) and her quest to find out which of three men (Brent Schraff, Andrew Scoggin, & Justin Miller) is her biological father. It's a goofy premise, but most audience members are there to sing along to 'Dancing Queen', and not to put the plot under a microscope.

Like vintage wines, veteran actors Lee Cooley and Jim Coates just get better with age in Don Bluth Front Row Theatre’s reprise of Ron Clark’s bittersweet play, A BENCH IN THE SUN, now playing through September 18th.

With a cast consisting of stars from Broadway's greatest rock musicals, as well as incredible Rock & Roll singers, Neil Berg shares the often unknown stories from the fifty-year history of the music that changed the world forever. NEIL BERG'S 50 YEARS OF ROCK AND ROLL will rock the Times-Union Center on November 16, 2021 at 7:30pm.

An afternoon of great company, good food, and a cute funny show is a great combination. Grumpy Old Men is a fun comedy with a hysterical script that is perfectly suited for dinner theatre. Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre's 2020 production was unfortunately halted due to the pandemic and has now been brought back with many returning talented cast members.
