Join us for a tour of famous and infamous stars, led by a man admired by more stars than any other: the one and only Tennessee Williams! Appearances on the tour include Elizabeth Taylor, Marlon Brando, Bette Davis, Truman Capote, Katharine Hepburn, and many more along the way. As in all good tours, the history becomes almost more realistic than the present as the Ghosts from the past materialize as flesh and blood. The New York premieres and world premiere production of Gordon Getty's "Scare Pair," a double-bill by the San Francisco-based composer, pairs his two one act-operas -- Usher House and The Canterville Ghost -- together for the first time on October 19 and 21 (7:30pm) at The Sylvia and Danny Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (located at East 68th Street, between Lexington and Park Avenues).  Both works, with the libretto and music by Mr. Getty, will be sung in English and have a running time of 60 minutes each. New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, America's preeminent professional Gilbert & Sullivan repertory company, announces its greatly anticipated new and exciting 2017-18 Season featuring a new jewel box production of The Sorcerer, celebrating is 140th anniversary this year; the much-loved H.M.S. Pinafore; and Ruddigore. The 43rd season launches Friday, September 15th (7:30pm) at Off-Broadway's intimate Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater (10 West 64th Street) with Gilbert & Sullivan's first full-length work, The Sorcerer (September 15-17). The season continues December 28 - 31 with the family-favorite H.M.S.
