The GB Public Theater 2022 mainstage season continues Aug.4 – Aug 14 with an evocative, penetrating drama about the vicissitudes and complexities of family dynamics, self-identity and the nature and meaning of love today - Things I Know to be True.

Crikey! “RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under” will debut July 30th, exclusively on WOW Presents Plus in select territories worldwide, day and date with its local airings on Stan (Australia) and TVNZ (New Zealand). RuPaul will return as host with longtime “Drag Race” icon Michelle Visage and comedian Rhys Nicholson serving as judges.

Opera Parallèle today announced details for the company’s upcoming Benefit Celebration Over the Rainbow, scheduled for Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Saint Joseph’s Arts Society, 1401 Howard Street. Special to the evening will be the San Francisco debut performance of critically acclaimed opera singer and crossover artist, countertenor John Holiday in a varied program spanning opera to pop, including the artist’s heartfelt interpretation of Harold Arlen’s immortal “Over the Rainbow.” Opera Parallèle Resident Pianist Keisuke Nakagoshi will be Holiday’s musical collaborator.

From January 17–22, 2022, renowned soprano Renée Fleming will mentor 10 aspiring young singers and 10 collaborative pianists from around the world in the fourth year of SongStudio, an innovative program exploring the future of the vocal recital.

Written by Jonathan Larson, the theater composer and lyricist made infamous with RENT, the film adaptation of TICK, TICK… BOOM! is sure to garner a lot of attention. The stage version is a rollicking, urgent three-person chamber musical that flies by in a tight 90 minutes. The film is expanded to 115 minutes and suffers a bit under the weight of that bloat. The emotional peaks and valleys all work, but there are moments where the plot drags.
