Theatre Collingwood announces their exciting collection of productions and events for their 40th anniversary year in 2024.

What you oughta know is that Broadway Sacramento is starting off the New Year with a bang. Raw, emotional, and energizing are the words to kick off 2024, as the National tour of Jagged Little Pill, The Musical hits Sacramento this week. It was inspired by Alanis Morissette’s 1995 album of the same name and, like the album, is a Grammy Award-winner. It also won two Tony Awards after its 2019 opening. While the musical uses songs from Morisette’s album, it is not the jukebox musical I was expecting. It features an original book by Diablo Cody that highlights the challenges facing an outwardly perfect suburban family, reminding us all to never judge a book by its cover…or a soccer mom by her minivan.

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa's Department of Theatre & Dance and Kennedy Theatre present Glitter in the Paʻakai, a world premiere Hana Keaka (Hawaiian Theatre) production written and directed by MFA candidate Joshua 'Baba' Kamoani‘ala Tavares. Learn more about the production here!

David MacGregor’s Scrooge Macbeth, is a Comedic Holiday Comedy set to the tune of two things... everything Christmas and the most prolific playwright ever known to classical theatre, William Shakespeare. Now I know what your thinking, how can the works of the Bard possibly coincide with that of Holiday Merriment, Joy, Giving, and Peace and Good Will to all men. For it is by the sheer amount of “Good Will...” all puns intended that David MacGregor’s farcical masterpiece will have you rolling in the aisles of the theatre, and feeling the need to relieve yourself in the nearest restroom.

Helena Hallberg releases single 'Surprisingly Disco' and debuts music video filmed at Brooklyn's Honore Club. Drawing from Motown and 70s icons like ABBA and the BeeGees, the string arrangements were skillfully written by arranger/composer Red Hawley, and, true to form, the strings were recorded in the “Motown-room” at Power Station at BerkleeNYC.

The product of PinkPantheress and these collective minds working together is an album that exhibits a new emotional depth.
