The South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center has announced its 2021-2022 season lineup starring over 20 different performers. The lineup features dance performances, holiday special events, musical tributes, family-friendly shows, Indie Flicks, and much more. The season kicks off on Saturday, October 9 with comedian Rex Havens.

On the Los Angeles Opera website, Igor Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex is available to stream now thru July 18th. Stravinsky based his opera Oedipus Rex on the ancient Greek tragedy by Sophocles. Oedipus Rex, is staged with minimal movement, which works well with COVID restrictions. A narrator describes the action in English.

Acclaimed theatre director/producer Troy Heard has teamed Steven Peros to write the book and lyrics with wunderkind composer, Brandon Scott Grayson (Musical Director, Utah Shakespeare Festival), for a musical adaptation of Peros' play, The Cat's Meow.
