Seattle Opera Presents FALSTAFF, 2/27-3/13

By: Feb. 02, 2010

Seattle Opera's "sensational" 2009/10 Verdi festival concludes this spring with his career-capping comic masterpiece: Falstaff.

The merry wives of Windsor unite in mischief-making when a larger-than-life nobleman plots to seduce both of them for fun and profit in this effervescent comedy featuring sparkling ensembles, tender love duets, and some of Verdi's most remarkable orchestration. Maestro Riccardo Frizza (Aida), director Peter Kazaras (The Marriage of Figaro), and a spirited ensemble cast bring Shakespeare's unforgettable characters to life in this new production that's not afraid to laugh at itself.
