There's no better way to introduce your family to the wonders of live theatre than with the magic, the mystery, the memory of Cats. What began as a musical about cats after Andrew Lloyd Webber picked up a book of poems in an airport bookshop has become one of the longest running shows in Broadway's history. Winner of seven Tony Awards including Best Musical, Cats features 20 of Andrew Lloyd Webber's timeless melodies, including the hit song 'Memory.' What did the critics think of Drew McOnie's new production?

What did our caIn the ever-growing list of bio-jukebox musicals, it was only a matter of time before the king of Rock and Roll got his very own. Review: JONATHAN ERLANDSON MAGIC at The Historic Malco Theatre in Hot Springs

Arkansas: Theresa Bertram • August 28, 2026

When I went to see Jonathan Erlandson Magic at the Historic Malco Theatre in downtown Hot Springs, the magic wasn't just theatrical, it was happening right in front of my eyes! And despite watching very closely, I still have absolutely no idea how he did any of it!

Review: BUDDY THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY at Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook Terrace, IL

Chicago: Tina St. Angelo • August 28, 2026

The current production at the Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace is Buddy: the Buddy Holly Story. It was the first of the jukebox musicals premiering in 1989.  It was conceived and written in England. It ran in London’s West End for 12 years. An interesting fact: Paul McCartney holds the copyright to Buddy’s music. He supported the idea and the show was produced.

Review: KIMBERLY AKIMBO at Theater Palisades At The Odyssey

Los Angeles: Evan Henerson • August 27, 2026

TP’s production of Abaire’s KIMBERLY AKIMBO, the 2000 play, not the musical, is a potent concoction of pitch-black humor, family dysfunction and unexpected does of sweetness that one would not expect out of a tale this offbeat.

Review: COME FROM AWAY at The Topfer At Zach Theater

Austin: Sabrina Wallace • August 27, 2026

ZACH Theatre’s Come From Away is a joyous, almost flawless production powered by a superb ensemble, clever staging, and infectious music. This true story of strangers helping strangers finds humor and hope in tragedy and leaves you with a warm reminder of what people can be.

Review: HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD at Paramount Theatre

Review: HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD at Paramount Theatre

Seattle: Jay Irwin • August 27, 2026

Dear Readers, when discussing the play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, currently playing at the Paramount Theatre, we need to consider things in two time frames, B.C. and A.C., Before Covid and After Covid. B.C. the show was only in select places such as New York, London, and San Francisco, and was a two-show experience (either on two successive nights or in the same day for a matinee and evening). A.C., where we obviously are now, the show is still in London, New York, and elsewhere, and is also touring the country (hence being here in Seattle), and is a condensed one show affair, clocking in at almost 3 hours. I managed to see it B.C. in both New York and San Francisco. So, how does B.C. compare to A.C., and how is the show on tour? Well, it’s still a spectacle, only a little less spectacular, and it feels like less of an event and more of just a show. But we’ll get into that.
