On May 9th, 2024, DPAC presented The DPAC Rising Star Awards, central North Carolina's High School Musical Theatre Awards, with host Clay Aiken. Alex Fluker from Panther Creek High School won the coveted DPAC Rising Stars Best Actress award and Conor Kruger from Enloe High School won the DPAC Rising Stars Best Actor award.

The national competition celebrates outstanding student performances in high school musical productions from all over the United States. This year, students from 31 local high schools submitted applications in the hopes of being selected as a Triangle Rising Stars' Top 20 finalist.
