Theatre Artists Studio presents Eleemosynary, a one-act play by Lee Blessing, weekends through March 27. Eleemosynary is the story of three generations of remarkable women and their complicated relationships with one another. Eccentric, brainy and funny, each woman's drive for independence and respect is both poignant and endearing.
Judy Rollings directs the three characters probing to illuminate the humor - the grandmother, Dorothea, who has sought to assert her independence through strong-willed eccentricity; her brilliant biochemist daughter Artemis (Artie) and Artie's daughter, Echo, a child of exceptional intellect. The play titles comes from the final word in the national spelling bee that Echo is determined to win.Judy Lebeau plays Dorothea; Maureen Dias is Artie and Tasha Spear appears in the role of Echo. Remaining production dates are: Fridays and Saturdays - March 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays - March 20 and 27 at 2 p.m.Tickets are $20 for adults; $15 for groups of 10 or more and $10 for students age 25 and under.Videos
