Do you love theatre and have a passion for sharing it with others? Consider joining team BroadwayWorld as one of our local contributors!

BWW is always seeking talented theater enthusiasts to head up feature coverage our over 130 regional areas. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to review the shows of your choice, conduct interviews with local and touring talent, design features of your own choosing for publishing, and work/network with your local theater press reps to bring exposure to the theatrical offerings in your area.

All applicants should have excellent writing skills and an interest for giving local theaters and productions some prominence on BroadwayWorld.com.

Cheyenne Lewis

Cheyenne Lewis

Cheyenne Lewis graduated from Arizona State University with her Bachelor of Arts in theatre in 2023. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in strategic communication at ASU. During her undergrad, she focused on dramaturgy. She assisted with dramaturgy on Anthropocene and was a part of the wardrobe crew for Safe at Home. Her love of theatre started with a community theatre production of Twelfth Night, or What You Will, in 2017, where she played the sea captain. Her experience there sparked her love of Shakespeare and classic plays. She has also played The Ghost in Hamlet and Don Pedro in Much Ado About Nothing, and many other local community productions. 

She is also a graduate of ASU’s Barrett the Honors College. In the summer of 2023, she studied abroad in the United Kingdom. Her undergraduate thesis, “West End Theatre: A Review of the 2023 Season,” is a collection of reviews for 15 European plays. 

Herbert Paine

Herbert Paine

Herb Paine ~ Herb has served as Senior Contributing Editor and lead theatre critic for BWW's Phoenix Metro Region since 2014. He was acclaimed as BEST THEATRE CRITIC by PHOENIX magazine (2022 BEST OF THE VALLEY).

He is President of Paine Consulting Services, now in its thirty-eighth year of operation, specializing in organizational development, strategic planning, turnaround management, mergers, and governance. In addition to his work with corporations and government, he is a nationally recognized expert on all aspects of nonprofit organization management and has consulted extensively with arts and cultural organizations on strategic positioning, branding, and audience development. 

His provocative social and political commentaries were a regular feature on KJZZ/91.5 FM, NPR’s Phoenix affiliate. Herb is an avid fan of theatre, both on and off stage. His most recent acting credits include roles as Sgt. Jeff Pugliese in the National Geographic Channel’s April 2014 docudrama "Inside the Hunt for the Boston Bombers;" the King of France/Chaudron the forger/Ser Piero, DaVinci's father in Theater Works' "Finding Mona Lisa;" Inspector LeStrade in Fountain Hills Theater’s "Sherlock’s Last Case;" and Berry Bernard in the short film "Living Will." 

Robert Encila-Celdran

Robert Encila-Celdran

Born and raised in the Philippines, Robert Encila-Celdran resides in Tucson, Arizona where he works as a full-time theatre educator. A Fine Arts scholar from the University of Arizona, he founded Studio Connections, a non-profit theater company and arts organization for children and youth. As a director, Robert helmed over a hundred productions, including some of his favorites: Chicago, Noises Off, Man of La Mancha, JB, A Man of No Importance, Pippin, America Hurrah, and Sunday in the Park with George. As a member of Actors’ Equity, Robert appeared locally as an actor with Borderlands Theater, Arizona Theatre Company, and Invisible Theatre, and across the country as a musician in New York City’s BB King’s, The Players’ Club, and Birdland -- the Jazz Corner of the World. Robert is a freelance writer, a touring musician, and a proud family man.

 

 

 

Zach Wetzel

Zach Wetzel

Zach Wetzel is an award-winning performer and educator. Arizona credits include Ragtime: The Musical (Herberger Center Stage), Disney's Frozen: Youth Edition (The Phoenix Theatre Company), Matilda: The Musical (Saguaro City Music Theatre), The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals (Main Street Creative Arts Center), and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (MTAA). Zach frequently performs with Unity of Tucson and Mesa, Beyond Broadway, and the Phoenix Third Street Theatre. zachwetzel.com
