MCC Theater will soon present the New York City premiere of the new musical Ride the Cyclone, which marks just the third musical in MCC's now-iconic 30-year history of producing new works for the American theater. With book, music and lyrics by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, Ride the Cyclone had its celebrated U.S. premiere in 2015 at Chicago Shakespeare Theater under the direction and choreography of Rachel Rockwell, who returns for the MCC production.

The Pre-Broadway World Premiere of The Last Ship, the new musical with music and lyrics by 16-time Grammy Award winner Sting, and book by Tony winner John Logan and Pulitzer Prize-winner Brian Yorkey, opens tonight at the Bank of America Theatre (18 W Monroe) and plays through July 13, 2014. The Last Ship is directed by Tony winner Joe Mantello and has choreography by Olivier Award winner and Tony nominee Steven Hoggett. The Last Ship will begin previews on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W. 52 St.) on September 29 prior to opening night on October 26, 2014. Directed by Timothy Sheader with co-direction by Liam Steel, INTO THE WOODS is running for five weeks through Saturday, August 25, with an official press opening on Thursday, August 9.
