This past Thursday at Broadway Sessions we were joined by cast & band members from Emojiland and just had an absolute blast! Performers included Heather Makalani (Aladdin), George Abud (The Band's Visit), Lena Gabrielle (Emojiland Music Director), Jacob Dickey (Aladdin), Tanisha Moore (Charlie and The Chocolate Factory), Jordan Fife Hunt (A Chorus Line), Ann Harada (Avenue Q), Laura Schein (Co-Writer and Star of Emojiland) with guest performers Isabel Stein and Zach Herman.

Emojiland has officially opened off-Broadway! The new musical will run through Sunday, March 8, 2020 at The Duke on 42nd Street in New 42nd Street Studios (229 West 42nd Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues). What's the new show all about? 'We know what people are saying. We know that people hear 'Emojiland the Musical' and go... huh? We're kind of counting on that,' explains star Leslie Margherita. 'We want people to come and have their minds changed. I loved the message of this musical about being inclusive, and that people aren't what they are at their face value.'

In July 2009, in the backroom of a narrow shop, two young, first-time playwrights performed their first musical at the Toronto Fringe. The show had a quirky title that immediately got it attention. When the first audiences saw it, they knew they were witnessing something unique from writers who had a very promising future. The show became a Fringe sensation. Four months later, David Mirvish, the largest Canadian commercial theatre producer, presented a longer vision of the show at the 700-seat Panasonic Theatre (now the CAA Theatre), where it was extended five times.
