I try to inform Houstonians about all the shows happening in and around the Houston area, as it can be daunting to keep track of them. I also include upcoming auditions for all talented actors in the area.

Labyrinth Theater Company (LAB) has announced its 33rd season of new work, marking the first under new Co-Artistic Directors Neil Tyrone Pritchard and Dina Janis.

Dog Day Afternoon on Broadway, a new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis, will premiere at the August Wilson Theatre beginning March 10, 2026. Directed by Rupert Goold, the production will star Emmy Award winners Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

The Lanford Wilson New American Play Festival at the Dobbins Conservatory of Southeast Missouri State University has new leadership: Co-Artistic Directors Charles Goforth and Tim Nicolai and Managing Director Lisa Fischel. Kenneth L. Stilson returns in the capacity of Founding Executive Director. Former Artistic Director Kitt Lavoie departs after shepherding the festival from an idea to five successful seasons and a national profile.

The Cherry Lane Theatre, the Off-Broadway venue now owned by film studio A24, has unveiled more of its opening week programming, including events featuring Spike Lee, Sofia Coppola, Jodie Foster, Michael Shannon, and more.

Harbinger Theatre will continue its mission to bring bold new works to the Capital Region with its 17th production and 16th Capital Region premiere: Between Riverside and Crazy by Stephen Adly Guirgis. Directed by Patrick White, the darkly comedic drama runs July 18–27, 2025, at Albany Civic Theater, with a free preview on July 17.
