The popular concert series Broadway Sings has announced the interactive, virtual concert event “Remember Broadway?” to take place on the night of the anniversary of the year-long Broadway shutdown.

While many may consider musical theatre to be rather niche (and it is compared to a lot of other mainstream entertainment, don’t get me wrong), it might surprise them just how popular many of the more mainstream musicals are.

The popular concert series Broadway Sings has launched a new, customizable feature in which fans can throw a Broadway-themed party for any special occasion and choose from a huge roster of Broadway guests to perform at the event.

Quarantunes, a series of invite-only, exclusive Zoom concerts hosted by WME Partner Richard Weitz and his daughter Demi Weitz, raised a record-shattering $1,238,273 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS during its most recent edition on October 18, 2020. This is the first time the stream passed the $1 million fundraising mark in one evening.

Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer, co-creators of the award winning Broadway hit American Idiot, are partnering with Swing Left to host its final letter-writing party of 2020 for national volunteers writing more than 15 million letters to voters. Berkeley Rep's Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer today announced three additional virtual projects for the fall.
