Premiering in the UK after a multiple-extended hit run Off-Broadway, where it sold more than 23,000 seats in a 69-seat theatre and grossed over $1million, Afterglow, by S. Asher Gelman, comes to Southwark Playhouse for a strictly limited seven-week season from Wednesday 5 June to Saturday 20 July.  

Pride Films and Plays' Chicago premiere of AFTERGLOW, S. Asher Gelman's long-running off-Broadway drama, has been extended a second time - this time for an additional eight weeks.

Pride Films and Plays will mount a fully staged production this summer of GRINDR THE OPERA (An Unauthorized Parody) - the satirical musical about the gay hookup app that changed the landscape of gay relationships. The musical was produced in the UK last year, in an extended, sold-out production at London's Above the Stag Theatre (the UK's only full-time professional LGBT+ theater), and won the 2019 Off West End Award (or OFFIE) for "Best New Musical" this past February. GRINDR THE OPERA, by New York-based composer-lyricist-playwright Erik Ransom, was an entry in the 2018 Chicago Musical Theatre Festival following staged readings in New York in 2015 and 2017 and a full production in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in fall 2017.

Marc Prince will assume the role of Josh, one-half of a gay male couple that invites a third man into their bed, in Pride Films and Plays' Chicago Premiere of S. Asher Gelman's AFTERGLOW. Prince has most recently been seen on Chicago stages in Hell in a Handbag's POSEIDON! and as Horse in THE FULL MONTY with Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre. In 2018, he played Sarge in Pride Films and Plays's YANK! A WWII LOVE STORY.

Final casting and creative team are today announced for the eagerly anticipated UK premiere of Afterglow at Southwark Playhouse.

The regional premiere of the Off-Broadway hit STRAIGHT was a major success for Utah Repertory Theater Company, with the production highly acclaimed by reviewers and popularly attended.

The world premiere of the new off-Broadway play Eco Village has found its cast and design team. Loosely based on the experiences of playwrightPhoebe Nir at the Bread and Puppet Theater, Eco Village explores the complexities of community and the boundaries of human behavior. The show will play at The Theatre at St. Clement's, 423 W. 46th Street, New York, NY 10036 from January 15-February 16 2019. Eco Village will preview from January 15-21, with opening night on January 24. 1. FUN HOME, Salt Lake Acting Company (saltlakeactingcompany.org) The stirring performances under the expert direction of Jason Bowcutt, who guided the cast from melancholy to zany in a heartbeat, made this premiere production hauntingly moving. Hailee Olenberger was utterly astonishing in the pivotal role of Medium Alison, perfectly capturing the awkward joy of first love and discovery of her sexuality. The live band, assuredly led by David Evanoff, was an additional reason for this reviewer to see FUN HOME three times.
