A&E Network will premiere the new two-part documentary event “Right to Offend: The Black Comedy Revolution” exploring the progression of Black comedy and the comedians who have used pointed humor to expose, challenge and ridicule society’s injustices and to articulate the Black experience in America.

Second City and SNL alum Jerry Minor returns to Chicago to direct his first resident stage production with an ensemble that includes e.t.c. stage vets Alex Bellisle, Mark Campbell, Terrence Carey, and Laurel Krabacher, Mainstage alum Jordan Savusa, and former Second City Touring Company member Claudia Martinez.

 The Second City has announced that, for the first time in the iconic comedy company’s 62-year history, an Artistic Advisory Board has been formed to help promote and secure the organization’s success for the next 62 years and beyond.

On the Tuesday, April 5 edition of “Tamron Hall,” comedian and actress Robin Thede joins Tamron in-studio to discuss her groundbreaking HBO comedy series “A Black Lady Sketch Show” and its upcoming third season. Thede opens up about her experience as a Black woman in comedy, paving the way for other Black writers and comedians. Later, supermodel Winnie Harlow joins the show to discuss her new skin care line CAY SKIN. Harlow shares how she was inspired to start her own skin care line and how she was able to turn her dreams into reality. 

The series stars Robin Thede, Gabrielle Dennis, Ashley Nicole Black and Skye Townsend. The new season will feature more than 40 celebrity guest stars, including Ava DuVernay, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Raven-Symoné, Wanda Sykes, David Alan Grier, Jemele Hill, Kel Mitchell, Michael Ealy, Wayne Brady, Bob the Drag Queen, Vanessa Williams, and more.

Produced by Channing Tatum, guest judges include Whitney Cummings, Nikki Glaser, Nicole Scherzinger, Amanda Seales and Robin Thede. The series follows regular guys who have “lost their magic” are put through the paces of a Magic Mike Live bootcamp, as they learn to perform sexy and daring dance routines competing to be crowned the real Magic Mike.

Season 2 of A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW once again featured a core cast of Black women living relatable, hilarious experiences in a magical reality that subverts traditional expectations.

In the Heights creators Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes will join global storytelling nonprofit The Moth, in collaboration with the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance, for a special Mainstage show on the closing night of the annual Uptown Arts Stroll/Paseo de las Artes.
