HBO to Debut Oscar-Nominated Documentary REDEMPTION Today

Former short-order cooks, computer-sales executives and factory workers, these men and women turned to canning after the economic downturn eliminated their livelihoods. Amidst the ongoing debate over income disparity in America, the timely documentary REDEMPTION looks at this growing army of jobless New Yorkers, whose treasures are found in trash, when it debuts tonight, OCT. 14 (9:40-10:20 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO.

Theatre School at DePaul University to Present ARABIAN NIGHTS, 11/1-10

The Theatre School at DePaul University is pleased to present ARABIAN NIGHTS as the inaugural production in the Sondra & Denis Healy Theatre at The Theatre School building, located at Racine and Fullerton on the Lincoln Park Campus. The Healy Theatre is a 100-seat flexible theatre, located on the fourth floor of The Theatre School. Its distinguishing feature is the completely transparent north wall overlooking Fullerton Avenue. Dominic Cooke's adaptation of Arabian Nights is directed by Kevin Kingston, as part of The Theatre School's New Directors Series. It premieres on Friday, November 1, and runs through Sunday, November 10, 2013. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on October 30 and 31, at 7:30 PM.

The Theatre School at DePaul University has announced the 2013-2014 season. Founded as the Goodman School of Drama in 1925, The Theatre School presents public programming as a professional extension of the classroom. Under the leadership of an award-winning faculty and staff, theatre artists from all disciplines collaborate during their final years of training to create a full and diverse season of programming.

Theatre School at DePaul University to Present OUR TOWN, Begin. 10/2

The Theatre School at DePaul University is pleased to present OUR TOWN as the inaugural production at the new Theatre School building, located at Racine and Fullerton on the Lincoln Park Campus. The Fullerton Stage Theatre is a 250-seat thrust theatre located on the first floor of the school. Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN is directed by Damon Kiely, premieres on Friday, October 4, and runs through Sunday, October 13, 2013. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. An additional matinee performance will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 5. Previews are on October 2 and 3, at 7:30 PM.

HBO to Air LIFE ACCORDING TO SAM Documentary, 10/21

In 1998, Dr. Leslie Gordon and Dr. Scott Berns learned that their two-year-old son, Sam, had progeria, a progressive aging disorder so rare that fewer than 250 children in the world had it at the time. Little was known about the disease, and all children with progeria died of heart attack or stroke at an average age of 13. Told there was no treatment or cure, they refused to accept that as the final verdict.

HBO to Air VALENTINE ROAD Documentary, 10/7

Feb. 12, 2008, started like any other day at E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard, a California beach town northwest of Los Angeles. Eighth-grade students filed into computer lab to do an assignment on the topic of tolerance. But before the class was over, 15-year-old Lawrence 'Larry' King lay fighting for his life, shot twice in the back of the head at point-blank range by classmate Brandon McInerney. Two days later, on Valentine's Day, Larry died, the victim of a crime that grabbed national headlines and dramatically changed the lives of the students, teachers and community.

Seventh Annual Circus in the Parks Tour Set for 8/17-10/6

The Midnight Circus in partnership with the Chicago Park District presents the seventh annual Circus in the Parks, Aug. 17-Oct. 6, at 11 citywide parks. Voted 'Best Annual Family Event' by TimeOut Chicago, this unique performance featuring an eclectic ensemble of acrobats, aerialists, dancers, contortionists and a dog under the big top tent has thrilled more than 40,000 attendees since 2007. Kohl's Donates $1.7 Million to Support the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Kohl's Department Stores announced the continuation of its partnerships with both the American Cancer Society and the Southeast Wisconsin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen with a $1.7 million donation from Kohl's and its philanthropic platform, Kohl's Cares. The additional funding will allow both organizations to support and expand education and patient-assistance programs.
