Trisha Brown Dance Company (TBDC) launches its 2017-2018 season with a busy calendar, showcasing masterpieces and other beloved works by one of the most influential choreographers from the postmodern era. Highlights include a week-long run at The Joyce Theater (December 12-17); live performances at New York City Center as part of the 2017 Fall for Dance Festival (October 2 & 3) and at Lincoln Center as part of Paul Taylor American Modern Dance's 2018 season (March 14, 16, 18 & 20); and touring in the U.S. and France. This fall also features a public Community Memorial honoring the life and work of Trisha Brown presented by Danspace Project. (October 28). (more...)

Paul Taylor American Modern Dance (PTAMD) will present its annual Season at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center from March 7 to 25, 2018. The Season will introduce the World Premiere of Paul Taylor's 147th dance, and feature World premieres of dances choreographed by Doug Varone and Bryan Arias commissioned through Taylor Company Commissions and made on the Taylor dancers. Special guest artist Sara Mearns, New York City Ballet Principal Dancer, will perform Dances of Isadora reconstructed by Isadora Duncan Dance Company Artistic Director Lori Belilove. Trisha Brown Dance Company will perform Trisha Brown's Set and Reset. Music will be performed live on every program by Orchestra of St. Luke's, conducted by Taylor Music Director/Maestro Donald York and Maestro David LaMarche. ???????In January 2018, the San Diego Symphony will hold its third annual festival and will explore the world of rhythm, sound and place through percussion in a month-long celebration entitled "It's About Time," which is curated by percussionist, conductor, author and University of California San Diego professor Steven Schick. Working with several of San Diego's performing arts organizations, the festival is about the myriad of ways percussion music connects us to the world and to nature. Planning is underway for the festival to move beyond the concert hall including an outdoor performance at the US/Mexico border of John Luther Adams's Inuksuit. (more...)

On the evening of July 28, 2017, as part of the Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival, Paul Taylor Dance Company (PTDC) with special guests DUCHESS and Vuyo Sotashe performed at the Damrosch Park Bandshell. It was quite the popular event as people lined up down the block and around the corner to see the anticipated show. It was a full house as pretty much every seat was taken! But, I could see why so many folks came out. It was a nice night, not too hot, not too humid, with a gentle breeze. The perfect night to be out and enjoy a show. (more...)
