Jasmine Amy Rogers, Ben Levi Ross, & Sam Tutty to Receive Clive Barnes Awards

The Clive Barnes Foundation (CBF) has announced the 2025-2026 Honored Artists for The Clive Barnes Award in Dance and Theatre. The Honorees are among the many outstanding young artists of promise in New York theatre and dance. Jasmine Amy Rogers (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,)  Ben Levi Ross (Ragtime), and Sam Tutty Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) are the Honored Artists in Theatre.

This year, Patrick Gamble (Paul Taylor Dance Company), India Hobbs (GALLIM Dance) and Yoon Jung Seo (American Ballet Theatre) have been named Honored Artists in Dance. Marina Harss will receive the Clive Barnes Award for Achievement in Media and Journalism. The 16th Annual Clive Barnes Award ceremony will be held on Monday, October 19 at 6:30 pm at the Martha Graham Studios, 1501 Broadway in New York City.

Hosted by Budd Mishkin of 1010WINS and Before the Cheering Started podcast, the annual Clive Barnes Awards recognizes young outstanding talent in the fields of theater and dance. Additionally, the Clive Barnes Award for Journalism & Media Achievement will be presented to respected dance journalist Marina Harss (Hudson Review, The New York Times).

Honored Artists have been nominated by the Foundation’s 14-member Selection Committee comprised of arts journalists and accomplished professionals in each field. Artists were selected based on live performances given in New York City between June 2025 and July 2026.

The 2026 Clive Barnes Awards Ceremony will proudly present performances by Anna Zavelson (2023 Honored Artist in Theatre) and Charlotte Landreau (former Martha Graham Principal Dancer). New York City Ballet Principal Dancer Mira Nadon will present the 2026 Dance Awards. A cocktail reception and silent auction of unique dance and theatre items will immediately follow the ceremony.

2026 Clive Barnes Award Honorees

Jasmine Amy Rogers is a Tony Award-nominated actress for her Broadway debut in the titular role in Boop! The Musical. She also received Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Theatre World Awards for her performance, along with Drama League and Chita Rivera nominations. She starred in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, earning Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk, Drama League and Lortel nominations. This year, Jasmine made her Carnegie Hall debut as Ado Annie in Oklahoma! and starred as Queenie in the Encores! production of The Wild Party for which she received a Drama League nomination. Regional credits include Jelly’s Last Jam (Pasadena Playhouse), The Wanderer (Paper Mill Playhouse), Becoming Nancy (Alliance Theatre) and the national tour of Mean Girls. Her screen credits include Evil (Paramount+). Jasmine is set to star as Maria in the 2027 Broadway revival of The Sound of Music.

Ben Levi Ross is an American stage actor and singer. He is best known for his work in the Tony Award winning musical Dear Evan Hansen, where he played Evan, Connor, and Jared on Broadway and Evan in the national tour. He received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his performances in Ragtime. For Ragtime, he received a Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award. In 2024, Ben received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Performer in a Musical for his role in The Connector. He appeared in the film tick, tick, Boom! and currently appears in the television series Elsbeth.

Sam Tutty was born in Crawley, England, He is currently starring on Broadway in Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) for which he received a Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Musical, as well as Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Award nominations. Sam made his West End debut as Evan in Dear Evan Hansen. He originated the role in London, following in the footsteps of Ben Platt who originated as the character of Evan Hansen on Broadway. He went on to receive numerous awards, including a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical in 2020. In 2019, Sam made his off-West End debut in Once on This Island at Southwark Playhouse.

Patrick Gamble is a dancer with alopecia, born and raised in Queens, NY. He began his dance training at age five in The Ailey School’s Junior Division and danced with Ailey II for three seasons. Patrick graduated from the Ailey/Fordham BFA program with a double major in Art History. He has performed works by Robert Battle, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Hope Boykin, Baye and Asa, Andrea Miller, Rena Butler, Earl Mosley, and Francesca Harper and also danced with artists such as Nona Hendryx, Mary J.Blige, and English conductor Simon Halsey. He worked as a movement coordinator for Lincoln Center’s Search For Spring, and was a swing actor at the haunted house, House of Spirits. He acted in Saturday Night Live, Gossip Girl, and HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness. As a model, he has been published in Vogue Italia, ID magazine, Buzzfeed Photo, The New York Times, and in campaigns for O.Studio.Design, Salomon, and David’s Road. He movement directed Fear of God and Players Magazine and performed in the final cast of Punch Drunk’s Sleep No More. Patrick joined the Paul Taylor Dance Company in Summer 2025.

India Hobbs began her dance training at the Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center and joined the Chicago Academy for the Arts in 2013. She continued her training at the Boston Conservatory and received a BFA in Contemporary Dance. Since making her home in New York City, India has performed in the 2021 Open Call Exhibition at The Shed, and the art collective Hause of PVMNT led by Christopher Kinsey and Maggy Costales. She also appeared with KNoname Artist under founder Roderick George. India joined GALLIM Dance in 2022, performing Andrea Miller’s repertoire and teaching GALLIM methods in classes and workshops throughout the city. Most recently, she performed as a lead dancer for the 250th anniversary of America, the second performance to be held at the Statue of Liberty since 1986. India is the recipient of a 2026 Princess Grace Award.

Yoon Jung Seo is a native of Gwangmyeong, South Korea. She began studying ballet at age six and attended the renowned Yewon School starting at age 12. She attended Seoul Arts High School and won several competitions in South Korea. She graduated from Yewon School with top honors in ballet and earned top scores every semester at Seoul Arts High School as a ballet major. In 2019, Yoon was a finalist and scholarship winner at the Prix de Lausanne. Seo joined American Ballet Theatre Studio Company in 2019, became an apprentice with the main company in 2021, and joined the corps de ballet of ABT in 2022. Her repertoire with ABT includes solo roles in Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake, peasant pas de deux in Giselle, a Shade in The Kingdom of the Shades, the Waltz in Les Sylphides, and  featured roles in Raymonda: Grand Pas Hongrois. and Twyla Tharp’s Bach Partita. She was promoted to Soloist with ABT in July 2026.

Marina Harss is the dance critic for The Hudson Review and a frequent contributor to The New York Times and The New Yorker. Her writing has also appeared in The New York Review of Books, The Nation, The Guardian, Ballet Review, Dance Magazine, and elsewhere. In 2023, Farrar, Straus and Giroux published her critical biography of choreographer Alexei Ratmansky, The Boy from Kyiv: Alexei Ratmansky's Life in Ballet. She is also a frequent moderator and lecturer at public forums including the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Works & Process, and Artis—Naples.
