The second night of the Cabaret Convention was a lovely evening, presented by the Mabel Mercer Foundation. The 10/23 night honored singer Bobby Short and featured an array of top NYC cabaret talent including established acts and some up and comers making their cabaret convention debut. Bobby Short, whose centennial we can celebrate this year, was a cabaret favorite. The second night of the Cabaret Convention mega-concerts put the focus on him. Audiences who dashed to Columbus Circle for the two-act 6 PM concert caught a long Short celebration, full of memories and songs he sang.
