Just For One Day, the new Old Vic musical inspired by the legendary Live Aid concert, could be headed to London's West End!

The Old Vic has announced further casting for the upcoming musical Just For One Day, written by John O’Farrell (Mrs Doubtfire, Something Rotten) and directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, The Little Big Things). 

A historic tale of division, religious persecution, and brutality, ending in an ambitious yet fateful plot to bring down both the monarchy and the government, Treason the Musical is set to blow you away with stunning original folk and pop songs. This one-of-a-kind show tells one of the most intriguing tales in Britain’s history as it’s never been seen before. All performances of Treason due to take place at The Orchard Theatre, Dartford, from the 21st – 25th November have been cancelled. The world premiere tour of Treason will now be seeing out its final performances at the London Palladium, performing for two nights on the 21 and 22 November.

As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, The Old Vic by permission of The Band Aid Charitable Trust, has confirmed the world premiere of Just For One Day. 

According to Deadline, the Live Aid musical, titled Just for One Day will premiere at the Old Vic Theatre in early 2024. Legendary Rock singer Bob Geldof, who organized the original concerts, will collaborate on the musical, which is devised and directed by Luke Sheppard. The producers of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical AIN'T TOO PROUD have announced that the show will play its final performance at the Prince Edward Theatre on Sunday 17 September 2023, ending its limited run earlier than originally planned.

The West End premiere of the smash-hit, Tony Award-winning Broadway musical has now extended booking until 7 January 2024 at the Prince Edward Theatre, with the Christmas performance schedule now on sale.

The Ain’t Too Proud gala performance took place last night, Thursday 20 April at the Prince Edward Theatre. Guests included Hugh Grant, Sir Bob Geldof, Pete Townshend, Adrian Lester, Beverley Knight, Pearl Mackie and Su Pollard. Check out photos here!
