The Muny has announced that more than 347,000 audience members attended performances in Forest Park as part of the theatre’s epic 106th season, which ran June 17-Aug. 25.

New York City's leading chamber choir, Musica Viva NY, launches its 2024-25 season with SOUNDSCAPES, a multicultural project fusing choral music with the indigenous sounds of India on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., at Manhattan's All Souls.

The quality of Maliakel’s voice is flawless with elegant tone and timbre. His phrasing is impeccable. His diction is magnificent. He possesses a resonant multi-octave range with rich and delicious vowels. Oh, those vowels! His elongated and euphonious Es in the titular song from “She Loves Me” reverberated throughout the room. Maliakel’s cabaret show is exactly what one wants in a musical theater performer’s solo show, carefully selected song choices that are familiar and not self-indulgent. His melodious singing and his relatable banter connected the insanely talented performer with his audience. The marvelous Maliakel has certainly proven that he is a vocal musician, a technician, an accomplished actor, a sensational singer, and an exceptional entertainer in any size venue. Hopefully, St. Louis will get to see him again soon on a local stage.

Fresh off his critically acclaimed run as Prince Eric in The Muny’s production of Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID, Michael Maliakel is bringing his cabaret show to Blue Strawberry in St. Louis. Maliakel played the lead role in Aladdin on Broadway for three years, has toured the country with the 25th Anniversary production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and recently made his Kennedy Center Debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s SUNSET BOULEVARD. He sat down with Broadway World to talk about his upcoming shows at Blue Strawberry and his experience working at The Muny.

The Muny’s production of Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID is a visually stunning explosion of color. Director John Tartaglia, his actors and technical teams collaborate to tell a memorable story that feels more animated movie than live musical theater. It is Tartaglia’s vision and leadership, the enthusiasm and vocal performance of his talented cast, and the vibrant effervescence of the set, costumes/wigs, choreography, puppets, lighting, video projections, sound, and music that make this an exuberant production.

Titanic concluded its run as part of New York City Center Encores! on Sunday, June 23rd. The company held a closing celebration, and BroadwayWorld was there to capture the festivities. Check out the photos here!

 The Muny has announced its full cast, design and production teams for Disney's The Little Mermaid, the third show in the theatre's 106th season, which runs July 8-16 on the James S. McDonnell Stage in Forest Park.
