The UK Pantomime Association has announced the nominations for The Pantomime Awards 2023 in association with Butlin’s, ahead of the awards ceremony at the Trafalgar Theatre, in London’s West End, on Tuesday 11 April 2023 at 7pm, hosted by Christopher Biggins.  

It is said that art comes in many forms. DaVinciBands illustrates that point with his 2023 debut, 'Young Bands.' DaVinciBands' artist name is an homage to the great, Leonardo da Vinci, in the sense that DaVinciBands sees himself as more than just a rapper, but as a true artist. 'Young Bands' has the bravado and boasting omnipresent in Rap, but also has the hopeful, motivational lyricism prevalent in Hip-Hop; thus, demonstrating DaVinciBands' versatility, and lyrical and artistic prowess.

The Shed has announced 18 New York City–based artists and collectives for its third Open Call, the city’s largest interdisciplinary commissioning program for early-career artists across the visual and performing arts disciplines.

Early Music Vancouver (EMV) has announced the dates for this year's summer festival along with a  new name. The 2023 Early Music Vancouver Summer Festival (previously named Vancouver Bach Festival) will take place  July 27 to August 5 at various venues including SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, Christ Church Cathedral, Pyatt Hall, The Orpheum Annex, West Vancouver United Church, and St. James Community Square.

It is Jacques Offenbach's only opera, best known for its 'Belle nuit, ô nuit d'amour' (known as 'Barcarolle'), other highlights including the 'Chanson de Kleinzach' sung by Hoffmann, and that ultimate showcase of coloratura soprano singing, the 'Les oiseaux dans la charmille' aria sung by Olympia.

Directed and produced by 1K Dojo and filmed in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, the high-energy video for “Lisa” captures an extraordinary day in the life of Young Miko. In a perfect representation of the song’s celebration of all types of women, the video follows Young Miko through a house party packed with potential objects of her obsession.

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts education program, 6th & Jazz, returned to in-person performances in Walt Disney Theater this week. Fifteen thousand 6th graders from Orange County Public Schools attended the interactive jazz history and influences program and were introduced to the works of jazz legends such as Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and more.

The Washington Pavilion of Arts & Science and Orpheum Theater Center will be closed on Thursday, February 23, 2023, due to inclement weather. The New York City-based Kairos Italy Theater along with the Italy-based KIT Italia and Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò at NYU will present the 10th anniversary season of the In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY, the festival of Italian theater taking place in all five boroughs of NYC (with participating venues to be announced), May 1-16.

Lyrical season will have 11 titles, including the premiere of O Machete, by Mehmari. The program also includes ballet shows, symphonic and chamber music concerts.

Manhattan Theatre Club’s world premiere The Best We Could (a family tragedy), written by Emily Feldman and directed by Daniel Aukin will now begin preview performances on Wednesday, February 8, at New York City Center – Stage I.

Battery Dance presents Battery Dance NOW, featuring the work of three female choreographers, on March 8-11, 2023 at 7pm at New York Live Arts, 219 West 19th St., NYC. Tickets are $35 (standard), $20 (student/senior/veteran), and $75 (VIP opening night reception).

La Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (Inbal), y su nuevo director artístico, el maestro Ludwig Carrasco, vieron anoche, viernes 3 de febrero, el arranque de esta primera temporada 2023, la cual continúa con la propuesta de dar exposición al talento nacional de proyección internacional, así como a diversas y destacadas batutas invitadas. Beginning February 11 through September 3, 2023, NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale will present Picturing Fame, comprised of four concurrent exhibitions which ruminate on the subject of fame and celebrity.

Nominations have been announced for the 37th Helen Hayes Awards, which will be presented on Monday, May 22. Nominees include productions from Arena Stage, Signature Theatre, GALA Hispanic Theatre and more.
