ZACH Theatre announces the Summer Concert Series for 2021 “Songs Under the Stars” lineup running June 10 through August 8, 2021. The weekly socially distanced outdoor concerts will feature four concerts over eight weekends running Thursdays through Sundays. Tickets on sale Thursday, April 29 at noon.

Austin Artists Project in collaboration with Ground Floor Theatre will present Sing Out!: A Broadway Musical Revue on June 3, 2021. This outdoor concert will bring the talents of six Tony and Grammy Award winners and nominees together in Austin for an evening of Broadway’s most inspiring and life-affirming works.

Opening the series for the first two weeks, Laura Benedict Scott, Sidney Scott, and Leslie McDonel will celebrate the female icons of country with “Legendary Ladies of the Grand Ole Opry.” ZACH’s dynamic trio sings selections from illustrious names including Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, and more.

ZACH Theatre is presenting A Rockin’ Holiday Concert, a socially distanced outdoor holiday concert on The People’s Plaza at ZACH playing December 10 – January 3, 2020. Featuring the vocals of Judy Arnold, CHANEL, Leslie McDonel, Jessica O’Brien, Daniel Rowan, Roderick Sanford, and Kenny Williams.

In light of recent rising COVID-19 cases in the Capital District, ZACH Theatre has decided to pivot this holiday and move A Rockin' Holiday Concert outdoors onto The Plaza at ZACH as part of the Songs Under the Stars series. New traditions will be made when The People's Plaza at ZACH transforms for the spirit of winter with outdoor heaters, hot chocolate and more. Bundle up, holiday cheer will be rockin' on The People's Plaza at ZACH, beginning December 10 through January 3, 2021.

The 28 quarterfinalists have been announced for the 27th annual American Traditions Vocal Competition (ATC), which is slated to run Feb. 17-21, 2020. The 28 talented vocalists, selected from over 100 applicants, will be competing for $40,000 in prizes, plus special performance opportunities with ATC's partner organizations, Savannah Philharmonic and Savannah VOICE Festival.

ZACH Theatre's A CHRISTMAS CAROL has been a holiday tradition in these parts for many years, and just when you think it can't get any better, Director Dave Steakley goes and does just that. He gives us bigger stars, better songs and a more topical message. I've been a fan of the show since I first reviewed it four years ago, but this year is the best ever, mostly due to the casting of Austin theatre legend Marc Pouhé as Scrooge.
