The Canadian Opera Company will present Béla Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle and Arnold Schoenberg’s Erwartung in a gripping double bill directed by Robert Lepage at Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.

From 5 – 28 August 2022, Edinburgh International Festival celebrates its 75th anniversary, and 75 years of bringing world cultures together, with a programme defined by international partnerships and bold collaborations that span continents, generations and genres.

The schedule includes a week featuring operas centered around morally admirable characters and the power of the human spirit, and a week of operas set in Paris, entitled City of Light. The April 23 stream of Philip Glass’s Satyagraha is being presented in partnership with Carnegie Hall as part of their Voices of Hope festival.
