This fall, the South Orange Performing Arts Center fully reopens. SOPAC's 2021-2022 season is its most diverse and inclusive yet, featuring musicians from various backgrounds, such as an Israeli superstar, a social justice-focused band, a Ukrainian quartet, various Celtic groups, a hip-hop violinist, a bayou-soul artist, and a chorus of womxn and non-binary singers.
The performers were shot and recorded in all 5 Boroughs in locations such as Birdland, the Brooklyn Museum, Columbia University, La Casita de Chema, Maimonides Park, NYU, Open Jar Studios, Red Hook Winery, Russ & Daughters, Steinway & Sons Factory, Tom’s Restaurant, and the Wonder Wheel among many others.
The Martha's Vineyard Concert Series will welcome live music back to the island with a special free show Tuesday night, July 20th. “Sonic Revolution at the Loft” will showcase local acts including Rose Guerin, Willy Mason Band, the Phil daRosa Band, and more at the biggest nightclub on the island, the Loft in Oak Bluffs.
David Yazbek will return to Feinstein’s/54 Below with a new concert on September 23, 2021 at 7 PM. The Tony Award-winning composer will present a full cycle of songs from the upcoming musical Dead Outlaw, co-written with collaborator Erik Della Penna, and performed by the composers and a full band.
The MV Concert Series announced another round of top touring musicians that will be performing at the Loft on Martha's Vineyard. Martin Sexton, Badfish, moe., Dwight and Nicole, and Dalton & The Sheriffs join a packed lineup at the Loft, which includes acts like Livingston Taylor, Joan Osborne and Ripe. The moe. shows will be a special Beach Road Weekend after party.
The shows are presented thanks to a partnership between MV Concert Series and The Loft. The Loft will undergo a six-figure renovation of the sound and lighting systems funded by the Martha’s Vineyard Concert Series, bringing a theatre experience to one of Oak Bluffs’ best hangouts. Sound engineers will map out the room and create a system specifically designed to bring professional concerts to the Loft. While much of the interior will look the same, the venue will have a new professional sound that transforms the entire experience.
The Emelin Theatre has launched the Rise & Shine Campaign to prepare for, fund and celebrate its reopening scheduled for early October. The Rise & Shine campaign will run throughout 2021 and lead into the 50th Anniversary Season of the Emelin in 2022.
