The Foundation for New American Musicals will present the 2023 FNAM Benefit honoring Jason Robert Brown, Georgia Stitt & Marcia Seligson.

When I viewed 'Jagged Little Pill', I found out the day of that two of the leads were being played by understudies. I was incredibly impressed knowing that they were thrown into the show last minute; I couldn’t even tell that they were understudies! I had the chance to speak with them about their vital roles in and experiences with the show.

JAGGED LITTLE PILL is half brilliant and half hackneyed, but there are moments when it is dizzyingly great.  A clever but overstuffed book married with challenging pop rock songs keeps the cast and audience on their toes, but when it hits the high it is worth it.  “You Oughta Know” and “Uninvited” are two of the most amazing pieces of musical theater acting I have seen in years.

Starlight Theatre has announced that the Kansas City premiere of JAGGED LITTLE PILL will play under the stars at Starlight August 1-6. The musical is inspired by the seminal rock album of the same name by seven-time Grammy Award winner Alanis Morissette.

When reality slaps you in the face and your personal problems seem unsurpassable, you may escape to the fantasy world of a Broadway musical. Unless the show's score is from Alanis Morissette, whose music peaked in the 90's with her unique Alternative  Rock style. What did our critic think of JAFrom the outside looking in, the Healeys are seemingly the Gold Standard flawless upper-middle-class family living in the Connecticut suburbs. JAGGED LITTLE PILL begins with the mom writing the annual holiday Christmas newsletter bragging about her husband's job and her beloved Harvard-bound son. From the inside looking out, just beneath the surface, they are a family imploding, struggling. GGED LITTLE PILL at Straz Center?

Jagged Little Pill, is the latest “Jukebox Musical,” in a rather long line of “Jukebox Musicals,” to make it on Broadway and then tour in recent years. With music by Alanis Morissette, book by Diablo Cody, and additional music by Michael Farrell and Guy Sigsworth, the show traverses the iconic landscape of songs represented on Morissette’s 1995 album of the same name, and touches on topics of pain, healing, and empowerment.

THE GREEN ROOM 42 will present the New York solo concert debut of beloved Broadway veteran Janine LaManna in “Black & Gold” for two shows on Saturday, June 10 and Monday, June 26, both at 7:00 PM.
