BWW catches up with Guy Masterson to chat about bringing 9 Circles to the 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

With the Summer Open Exhibition currently taking place at the Salisbury Arts Centre until 3rd September, Wiltshire Creative has announced its autumn/winter line up. A fantastic programme of comedy, music, theatre, and performance art has been mapped out from 10th September until 14th January.

Guy Masterson, TTI in association with Flying Bridge Theatre Company presents Horse Country. The Fringe First and Herald Angel Award winning play returns for its 20th anniversary Assembly George Square Studios, Studio Two, 8 – 29 Aug 2022.

A cold-blooded killer who’s completely unbothered by having to make his way through piles of corpses, he is everything the States want in their ranks.

From House of Cards writer Bill Cain and The Shark is Broken director Guy Masterson, the European premiere of 9 Circles is based on a true story of a repatriated US Army Private accused of war crimes.

Following the recent announcement of Guy Masterson and Bill Cain's 9 Circles at Park Theatre, the company have announced Daniel Bowerbank as the final cast member to join the cast.

Today (Mon 6 June) Assembly Festival, announces its final 50+ shows for 2022, including Frank Skinner, Al Murray, Jinkx Monsoon (RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 7 contestant, season 5 winner); Queen of Fake Alison Jackson; and Fringe favourite Reuben Kaye. 

From House of Cards writer Bill Cain and The Shark is Broken director Guy Masterson, the European premiere of 9 Circles is based on a true story of a repatriated US Army Private accused of war crimes. In a psychological thriller told through the eyes of the accused, 9 Circles asks how a soldier can be trained as a cold-blooded killing machine while clinging on to the threads of his humanity.

Australian-Italian, internationally-touring actor, writer, producer, and musician CLARA FRANCESCA, has been awarded Best Actress by the Fairfax Melbourne Arts Centre, Best Performance at the SaraSolo International Festival, and nominated twice for Best Actress at the Independent New York Theater Awards.

Dame Maureen Lipman and an adaptation of a Christopher Isherwood novel will appear on the Park200 stage in two shows announced for Park Theatre's Summer to Autumn season. Further notable names in the season include House of Cards writer Bill Cain and Olivier Award-winner and The Shark is Broken director Guy Masterson.

Sonia Friedman has today announced that The Shark is Broken has recouped, as the critically acclaimed play comes to a triumphant end at the Ambassadors Theatre.  Like the famously turbulent shoot of the movie JAWS, The Shark is Broken made it to the West End against all odds after the initial 2020 run was postponed due to the pandemic, before steering a course through the many crises and disruptions the theatre industry has faced since.

A brand new trailer has been released today for The Shark is Broken.   As previously announced the critically acclaimed production has extended its run at the Ambassadors Theatre, due to popular demand, until 13 February 2022.

New production images have been released today for The Shark is Broken now running at the Ambassadors Theatre in the West End.   Co-written by Robert Shaw’s son Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon, this brilliantly funny play, directed by Guy Masterson, reveals the hilarious and moving behind-the-scenes drama on Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster movie JAWS.

A new image and video has been released today for The Shark is Broken which opens at the Ambassadors Theatre from 9 October 2021.  

As previously announced, Ian Shaw (War Horse and Common, National Theatre) will star as his father Robert Shaw. He will be joined by Liam Murray Scott as Richard Dreyfuss (reprising the role he performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2019), and Demetri Goritsas (ear for eye, Royal Court; Black Mirror, Netflix) as Roy Scheider. 

The Shark is Broken reveals the hilarious and moving behind-the-scenes drama on one of Hollywood's all-time biggest blockbusters, Steven Spielberg's Jaws.  The play is co-written by Robert Shaw's son Ian, who also plays his father, and Joseph Nixon.

Twenty years on from its acclaimed premiere, starring the late, great Pete Postlethwaite, just weeks after the world-changing events of 9/11, Scaramouche Jones, written by Justin Butcher, returns to the London stage.
