Theatre Memphis has announced its 2026-27 season decidedly dedicated to variety, including shows such as The Music Man and Million Dollar Quartet, among others.

Modern Classics Theatre Company of Long Island will present an immersive soirée hosted by the Sisters of Gertrude Stein in Five Lesbians Eating Quiche throughout November 2025.

Let’s face it, the world of theatre, at times, can be misogynistic. Even though we joke about the multitude of gay men that are involved in theatre, that does not mean it is exempt from the repercussions of “the patriarchy”. As a gay man myself, I understand this problem all too well, but here in Dayton, we have luckily had some incredibly impactful pieces that were not only led by women, but speak upon the experiences of womanhood.

Circuit Playhouse, Inc. (CPI), a professional non profit theatre company in Memphis, TN overseeing Playhouse on the Square (66 South Cooper Street), The Circuit Playhouse (51 South Cooper Street), and TheatreWorks@TheSquare (2085 Monroe) has announced the organization will end their decades old internship program, known as Playhouse on the Square Associate Company, the summer of 2023.

5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, a comedy about five 'bachelor gals' in the duck and cover days of 1956 is the third and final show in The Theater Project's (TheTheaterProject.org) Three Plays in Three Months summer season at the Maplewood Burgdorff Cultural Center, 10 Durand Road.
